The Orchard-Rite frost fan 2600 frost fan is more efficient, it offers more protection against frost. This is frost “Protection”, not just “coverage”.
One of the reasons the 2600 is the most powerful frost fan on the market, is it has a caterpillar 7.1 L diesel engine driving aerodynamic blades.
These blades are the longest blades on the market, specifically designed with the bigger engine to push more air. A fundamental dictum in aeronautics states that “high aspect ratio blades (long and narrow) are more efficient than low aspect ratio blades (short and wide).”
The distance a frost fan can cover is proportional to the blade diameter and airspeed. As a rule of thumb, every 1% increase in blade diameter results in a 1% increase in reach. The more blades you have, the more disturbance to the wake of the following blades. This restricts the rpm of the blades.
Two-blade fans are more efficient than four-blades. The blades are also of solid construction, made of Resin Transfer Molded Fiberglass, and have the option for a ten-year extended warranty.
